Given that Cornwall is the kind of town you can raise a family, we do holidays like Christmas RIGHT. We know – it’s annoying that stores play Christmas music throughout November now, and the advertisements on TV get to be too much – but when you see kids’ eyes light up at the mention of Santa, or you see the rosy cheeks on smiling faces in the snow, it’s hard to blame us for getting excited. Here are some upcoming events that are great for getting into that Holiday mood!
We look forward to this every year. Marking the beginning of the Christmas season, The Santa Claus Parade starts at St. Lawrence Secondary School and moves through town, with plenty of spots for you and your family to pull up to the street and watch! Cornwall’s community really pulls out the stops for this one, and this year’s theme is “Christmas Movies.” We’re excited to see what everyone puts together, and we think you should be too!
One of Cornwall’s most beautiful churches, Nativité Co-Cathedral has a storied history and a beautiful organ that has been instrumental in their worship for decades. On November 18, Gilles-Maurice LeClerc will present a series of five improvised pieces in memory of dearly departed organist Regis Serre. Organ music is truly beautiful, and a great way to get into the spirit of Christmas!
Taking place at the Cornwall Civic Complex, the Very Big Christmas Show is your chance to get your Christmas shopping done early! Featuring over 50 vendors selling fantastic Christmas gifts, door prizes, a wrapping station and a chance for your kids to get their photo taken with Santa, all proceeds from the door will go towards helping the Cornwall Optimist Toy Drive! You can feel good about getting your shopping done ahead of time AND giving to charity!
Whatever brings you to Cornwall this November, there’s no better way to warm up your rosy cheeks than a stay at the Ramada Cornwall. The cold air is delightful, but our complimentary hot tub right after will be even better!
