We’ve lost some musical greats in the last few years, but can take some comfort in knowing that their music will live forever. If you’re visiting Cornwall in June, check out these great musical impersonations!
On June 1, Cornwall’s own Fully Completely will perform the music of The Tragically Hip at La Maison! This band captures the poetry of Gord Downie’s distinctly Canadian vision and the driving rock of The Hip. We miss Downie intensely, but knowing that Fully Completely is out there celebrating his music helps!
On June 7, check out Michael Bell’s touring show Bowie Lives! A tribute to over four decades of David Bowie’s fantastic music, Bell’s band recreates the many personas of this strange and compelling public figure at the Port Theatre in Cornwall.
Do you love swords, armour and jousting? Are you beguiled by tankards of mead, knights and maidens and the prancing of jesters? Do you love getting out into the fresh air for fun and unique events? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then you need to head to Upper Canada Village in nearby Morrisburg to experience the Medieval Festival on June 8-10! Watch experienced re-enactors show you what life was like in the 1500s while enjoying smoked turkey drumsticks and other period-appropriate snacks! It’s bound to be fun and educational!
