Spring is right around the corner here in Cornwall, and we couldn’t be more excited! There’s plenty to see and do in the coming months as we look forward to a change in the weather.
Upper Canada Village, the beloved local attraction that transports you back to 1860! Trained actors take on the roles of the village showing you what it was like to be a blacksmith, a baker, and even a cheesemaker in the 19th Century! There are farm animals to pet, workshops to participate in, and an gooey farm fresh grilled cheese to enjoy!
The grand opening is on May 4, and there will also be a special Mother’s day event on May 13! Check here for full schedule.
Is there a more quintessentially Canadian food than the poutine? If there is, we’re not sure we want to hear about it. Why would you have a theoretically more Canadian food when you can have a beautiful mess of french fries, cheese curds, and hot gravy?
If you’re a poutine lover, then you need to be in Cornwall’s Lamoureux Park May 18-21 for the Poutine Feast. That’s four days where you’ll be able to enjoy all the natural beauty of Lamoureux Park and the St. Lawrence, except with your choice of 10 poutine vendors slinging their best, most exciting, and sometimes WEIRDEST poutines! Want a classic poutine or a galvaude (poutine + roast chicken and peas)? They’ve got that. How about a double bacon cheeseburger poutine? Or a Philly cheesesteak poutine?
Update: Poutine Feast has been cancelled for 2018. Stay tuned for next year's event.
