For the past thirty years, Cornwall has had an important tradition, one meant to keep our local musical heritage alive, as well as to encourage the growth of the local music scene. This tradition is the Arts in the Park Concert Series, a series of wide-ranging concerts that are sure to please everyone.
Set in the beautiful Lamoureux Park, the local bandshell frequently plays host to a wide variety of people, from families to lone music lovers, as they set up their chairs, blankets, and picnic baskets. They’ve all come to hear our music—now it’s your turn! The concerts are completely free of charge, and are sure to make your night. For a full list of acts, visit their website. Here are some of our favourites:
Our local theatre company will be performing their own production of Edward Albee’s Seascape, a Pulitzer Prize-winning play about two very different, yet very similar couples. Charlie and Nancy are husband and wife, about to retire. Leslie and Sarah are two sea lizards, considering evolving into land beings. The conversations they have are poignant and introspective.
Who doesn’t love the original jazz sounds of a brass and rhythm line? This seven-piece will get you swinging on your feet like it’s 1920 all over again, so bring your dancing shoes! The RTDB is even complete with matching outfits—this is the real deal!
This country rock queen will have you clapping along in no time as her stunning vocals take over the park. Grace is no stranger to a big stage, and isn’t afraid to bare her soul through her original works, combining a country heritage with her unique style.
There are too many fantastic acts to list, so next time you’re in town, check out what’s playing for Arts in the Park. And while you’re in town, don’t forget to book your room in our comfortable and convenient hotel. We look forward to your visit!
