The holiday season is just around the corner, which means planning a trip to Cornwall is definitely a good idea. Cornwall comes alive during the holidays, owing to its many holiday-themed attractions and activities. From the annual Santa Claus Parade to an amazing lights festival just west of the city, you can’t go wrong if you’re spending the holidays in Cornwall.
Upper Canada Village is back with their annual holiday-themed event, Alight the Night. Alight the Night is Eastern Ontario’s biggest outdoor lights festival and is scheduled to begin on November 28. At Alight the Night, guests are invited to embark on an enchanting winter stroll filled with over a million lights. Lights are hung everywhere from trees and fences to heritage buildings. Ultimately, it is the perfect winter wonderland experience, and it’s less than half an hour from Cornwall.
The holiday season is upon us, which means now is the time to start shopping. Luckily, Cornwall is filled with fabulous shopping centers and independent shops. Cornwall Square is the main mall and it has a ton of stores, including Foot Locker, EB Games, Coles, Urban Planet, and Cleo. At the corner of Tollgate and Brookdale, you’ll also find several retail stores, like Best Buy, Winners, Sport Chek, PetSmart, and Sally’s Beauty Supply.
Cornwall’s annual Santa Claus Parade is back for yet another year. Taking place on November 28 from 4:30 pm until 9:30 pm, this evening parade is happening in the Cornwall Civic Complex Parking Lot. Unlike previous years, Cornwall’s Santa Claus Parade will be a drive-thru event, in order to ensure everyone stays safe from COVID-19. The event will see cars traveling along a defined route, and looking out at the stationary holiday floats and displays from their car windows.
