You may know her as one of the hilariously snarky panelists on MuchMusic’s Video on Trial series. Perhaps you’ve also heard her putting her biting wit to work on CBC radio’s The Debaters. You may have even seen her as a feature panelist on the Comedy Network’s new show Match Game. Whatever the case, there’s no denying that Debra DiGiovanni is one of Canada’s most talented comedians working today, and certainly one of the most prolific female comedic performers in our country’s history.
This January, DiGiovanni will hit the road for her first ever cross-Canada stand-up comedy tour. It’s called “The Late Bloomer Tour”, which speaks to her wave of recent success and wide exposure, the long-awaited rewards of more than a decade in the industry.
Although she’s best known for her TV appearances, it’s not a stretch to call DiGiovanni a seasoned stand-up comedy professional. She has two Comedy Now! specials under her belt, was a finalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, and recently aired her first American stand-up special, Single Awkward Female on Showtime. She’s no stranger to accolades, either, having won the Canadian Comedy Award for Best Female Comic three times!
Her upcoming tour includes 21 cities, which span from Victoria to St. John’s. One of her stops is right here in Cornwall, January 16th at the Aultsville Theatre.
Tickets are $42.35 plus service charges, available for purchase online, at the Cornwell Civic Complex Box Office or one hour before show time at the Aultsville Theatre Box office.
