We are delighted to announce that the Cornwall & Area Pop Event, otherwise known as CAPE, is back for 2022!

After being cancelled in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, event organizers have officially re-scheduled the event for this spring.

This comic/pop culture convention is beloved in Cornwall, with fans from all over Ontario and Quebec flocking to the area to attend.

CAPE 2022 is scheduled to take place on April 23rd and 24th and they’ve already announced a list of headliners.

This year’s list of celebrity guests is set to include the likes of Scott Patterson, Yanic Truesdale, Amanda Bearse, William Ragsdale, Abby Hagyard, and Dan Day.

Scott Patterson and Yanic Truesdale are best known for their work on the hit show Gilmore Girls, while you will likely recognize Amanda Bearse from her work on All My Children and in the cult film Friday Night. William Ragsdale also starred in Friday Night, before going to make appearances in several hit shows, including Criminal Minds, The Mentalist, Judging Amy, and Search Party.

Finally, Abby Hagyard and Dan Day are both Canadian icons, the former known for her nine years on the Nickelodeon sketch comedy show You Can’t Do That on Television, and the latter for his impressive comic book career, illustrating issues of Marvel Comics Presents, Cases of Sherlock Holmes, Man From UNCLE, and Nightmare On Elm Street.

All in all, CAPE 2022 is shaping up to be a can’t-miss event. In addition to the celebrity guests, there will be tons of cosplay, exhibitions, Q&A sessions, and panels for attendees to enjoy.

Follow the CAPE 2022 Facebook page for updates on this year’s event. Tickets are available now and start at $12 for Sunday admission and $18 for Saturday admission.

If you’re going to be in Cornwall this April, then be sure to grab tickets to what is sure to be one of the biggest events of the year, CAPE 2022. And if you’re looking for a place to stay during your trip, you’re always welcome at the Ramada by Wyndham Cornwall. Valentine’s Day is upon us, which means it’s time to start planning something special for you and your partner. Even if things look a little different this year due to the ongoing pandemic, it’s still possible to plan a special evening full of love. From grabbing tickets to see the Seaway Valley Theatre Company’s latest musical to going for a winter stroll in one of the region’s many parks, check out three Valentine’s date ideas to do in Cornwall.

Grab Tickets to Nunsense

The Seaway Valley Theatre Company is back with another incredible show - Nunsense! Their winter musical is being performed on select dates between February 11th and the 26th, with shows scheduled for both February 12th and 13th. This popular play tells the story of the Little Sisters of Hoboken, who quickly discover that their cook has poisoned one of the sisters. The Seaway Valley Theatre Company reimagines Nunsense by infusing it with new jokes, an additional song, and two new arrangements.

Order Delivery From Your Favourite Restaurant

If dining out isn’t possible come to Valentine’s Day, you can still plan a special dinner by ordering takeout or delivery from your favourite local restaurant. Some of the top eateries in Cornwall include Edward’s Bistro, Table 21: Steakhouse & Oyster Bar, Thum’s Kitchen, and Au Vieux Duluth Cornwall.

Go For A Winter Stroll Through Lamoreaux Park

Get outdoors this Valentine’s Day by planning a scenic winter stroll with your partner. There are plenty of spots to go for a leisurely walk near Cornwall - Lamoreaux Park for one. This park has lots of beautiful walking paths that take you right along the St. Lawrence River. Other options include Guindon Park, or for a more serious winter hike, head to Summerstown Forest or South Stormont Recreational Trail.

If you’re going to be in Cornwall this Valentine’s Day, then we recommend planning something special for you and your partner. And if you’re looking for a place to stay during your visit, we’d love to have you at the Ramada by Wyndham Cornwall.
