Fall has officially arrived and that means apple picking, crisp mornings, and all things pumpkin spice!

To get into the fall spirit, we recommend heading to a family-run farm near you, and if you’re based in Cornwall, that means a trip to Cannamore Orchard.

Located roughly 45 minutes north of Cornwall, Cannamore Orchard is a family-run operation that has been in business since 1982. What started with over 500 apple trees has now turned into one of the biggest attractions in the area.

Between apple picking, a pumpkin patch, and a spooky Acres of Terror Halloween event, there is so much to do at Cannamore Orchard.

For those looking to take home some delicious apples, you’re in luck. Apple picking season has already begun for 2021. Cannamore Orchard’s Pick-Your-Own Apples experience is open daily between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Family Activity Weekends are also on now, which allow the young ones to enjoy everything from wagon rides, hedge mazes, and cow train rides to pedal cars and a kid’s play area. There is also fresh fudge for all to enjoy!

Cannamore Orchard’s pumpkin patch isn’t quite open for the season, but usually opens around mid-September and remains open throughout October.

For both apples and pumpkins, visitors have the option of picking their own or purchasing pre-picked ones from Cannamore Orchard’s store.

Finally, if you’re someone who likes to be scared on Halloween, then you’ll love Cannamore’s Acres of Terror.

This annual event is marketed as the area’s most terrifying attraction, and sees the orchard turn into a haunted Halloween village. This year’s event includes four main components: the spooky wagon ride, the house of terror, the spooky village, and the fog maze. As with all years of the event, there will be tons of decorations, special effects, and live actors to make it as scream-inducing as possible. Tickets for both daytime (less spooky) and nighttime (more spooky) are available now, with Cannamore Orchard’s Acres of Terror running on weekends from September 24th until October 31st.

If you’re visiting Cornwall this fall, then we highly recommend spending an afternoon at nearby Cannamore Farms. And if you need a place to stay during your visit, you’re always welcome at the Ramada by Wyndham Cornwall.

Summer has arrived, and that means hot, humid weather has taken over Cornwall. On a sunny day in August, there’s nothing better than relaxing by the poolside. Book a room at Ramada by Wyndham Cornwall and you will have access to our wonderful indoor pool.  If you are looking for public pools or water parks - we have tons that will provide much-needed relief from the heat. Check out where to find the best available splash pads in town.

Lamoureux Park

Lamoureux Park is one of the most beloved parks in Cornwall for a reason. Not only does it have one of the best splash pads in the city, but it’s also home to a playground, a bandshell, several picnic areas, and cycling trails.

Mattice Park

Relax, refresh, and unwind at Mattice Park. Mattice Park is home to its very own public pool (it even has a diving board). Plus, this Cornwall park also boasts a basketball court, a tennis court, and an ice rink come winter.

Riverdale Park

Another great splash pad in Cornwall can be found at Riverdale Park. Located at the corner of Riverdale and Peter, this park has tons to offer. A playground, tennis courts, and basketball courts are all located here, not to mention plenty of green space for a picnic. Families can easily spend an entire day at Riverdale Park.

Terry Fox Memorial Park

At Mercier and Ross Ave lies Terry Fox Memorial Park. This park features a public outdoor pool, a playground, and tennis/pickleball courts.

Reg Campbell Park

Reg Campbell Park, at Leitch Drive and Fraser Ave, also has its own outdoor pool. Residents of all ages will also love the baseball diamond and playground here.

Please note that due to the ongoing pandemic, all visitors to Cornwall’s public pools will be screened upon arrival. Though masks are not mandatory in the pool, guests are asked to maintain a distance of six feet from others.

If you’re visiting Cornwall this summer, then be sure to cool off at any one of the public pools or splash pads above. And if you need a place to stay during your visit, we’d love to host you at the Ramada by Wyndham Cornwall. We combine a welcoming atmosphere and family-friendly amenities with a convenient location in the heart of town.

The summer is back and that means fun events for the whole family! With the pandemic now under control, Cornwall is hosting all kinds of activities all summer long. From a waterfront farmers’ market to a festival all foodies will love, check out the top three things to do in Cornwall this summer.

Cornwall Food Fest

Calling all foodies! Cornwall Food Fest is back this August for one day only. On August 21st, Cornwall will play host to a vibrant street party where some of the best local restaurants and food trucks will have a chance to showcase their delicious grub. Beyond the food, there will be live entertainment, a beer garden, and a sidewalk sale featuring some of Cornwall’s most beloved downtown shops. In total, visitors can expect more than 30 talented artisans to be displaying, selling, or performing their art at Cornwall Food Fest.

Yoga in the Park

Is there anything more relaxing than outdoor yoga in the summer? We don’t think so, which is why we can’t get enough of Cornwall’s Yoga in the Park. Taking place on select Wednesday evenings in the bandshell at Lamoureux Park, these special classes are hosted by Paula from Love Yoga: Creative Movement Studio. Classes cost $15 and half of all proceeds are being donated to the Carefor Hospice Cornwall.

Cornwall Waterfront Farmers’ Market

The Cornwall Waterfront Farmers’ Market is back for the summer. Taking place in the Cornwall Civic Complex Parking lot, this annual farmers’ market features a wide range of locally grown and prepared foods. There are typically 20 vendors in attendance, selling everything from fresh fruit and veggies to homemade baked goods and preserves. Please note that COVID-19 restrictions are in place, including mandatory mask wearing and physical distancing.

If you’re visiting Cornwall this summer, then be sure to partake in the activities and events above. And if you need a place to stay during your visit, you’re always welcome at the Ramada by Wyndham Cornwall. We offer family-friendly accommodation, luxe amenities, and an unbeatable location in the heart of town.
